Switch from Bluehunt to Jaktli

This guide shows how to move from Bluehunt to Jaktli.

Bluehunt currently has no way to export your map to a file. So you cannot move the map across automatically the way you can from WeHunt or Easyhunt. But there is an easy path: Jaktli can fetch your property boundaries straight from Lantmäteriet (the Swedish mapping authority). All you need is the property designation.

Step 1: Set up your team in Jaktli

Start by downloading the app and creating or joining a hunting team. This is covered in Getting Started with Jaktli.

Short version:

  1. Download Jaktli from the App Store or Google Play, or go to jaktli.se
  2. Create an account with your email address
  3. Tap Create team and give the team a name

Step 2: Get your property boundaries

Bluehunt cannot export the map

Bluehunt does not save a map file that other apps can read. Instead, fetch the boundaries straight from Lantmäteriet, or redraw them by hand on the map.

Fetch the boundary from Lantmäteriet

This is the easiest way and needs no file:

  1. Find the property designation for the land, for example GÄVLE OLSBACKA 11:1
  2. Open Map in Jaktli
  3. Tap the + button
  4. Pick Fetch property boundary
  5. Enter the designation and tap Search property
  6. Tap Save as areas

The full description is in Map.

Draw the boundary by hand

If you do not have the designation, you can draw the boundary directly on the map in Jaktli. You can also place stands and other markers by hand.

Requires administrator role

Fetching property boundaries and drawing on the map requires you to be a secretary or team lead.

Step 3: Add the rest by hand

You add the rest of the team yourself. It usually takes an evening:

  • Invite the members so they join the team, see Members
  • Add hunts and work days to the calendar, see Calendar
  • Add contacts such as landowners and tracking providers, see Contacts
  • Upload the team's documents such as bylaws and lease agreements, see Documents

Start fresh

You do not need to bring everything at once. Add the land and the members first, then let the team fill in the rest over time.
