Calendar
Here you'll learn how to see upcoming hunts, sign up for a hunt, create a new event, and subscribe to the team calendar in your own phone calendar.
What is the calendar?
The calendar is the team's shared planning. You see all group hunts, individual hunts, work days, and other events the team has scheduled.
You can switch between Month (one whole month at a time) and Week (seven days in columns with time slots) via the icons in the top right. Both views show a Jump to today button at the top if you've scrolled far away.
What the colours mean
Each event has a colour so you instantly see what kind of day it is:
- Gold = Group hunt
- Green = Individual hunt
- Gray = Work day
- Red = Protective hunting
- Brown = Other
Each day also shows a small weather icon for the next seven days.
See an event
- Tap a day in the calendar
- A list of that day's events appears below the calendar
- Tap an event to open the detail page
On the detail page you'll see:
- Title, type, date, and description
- The hunt leader (for hunt events)
- All participants with profile pictures and status (accepted, invited, or declined)
- Any tasks linked to the event
- Any photos from the event in the gallery
- For hunt events: the chosen tracking handler (eftersöksjägare) if the team has assigned one for the day (picked from members with the
eftersok_providerrole) - For hunt events: the linked sub-area on the map, if the hunt leader has attached one. When the live hunt starts, that sub-area is what every participant sees.
Sign up for a hunt
When you've been invited to an event you can accept or decline:
- Open the event
- Tap Accept or Decline
- For multi-day events, choose whether to attend all days or only some
You can change your mind any time. Leave a single day or the whole event if your plans change.
Requires administrator role
Secretaries and team leads can also remove a participant directly from the participant list (e.g. if someone forgot to cancel). Removal sends a notification to the member.
Example
A moose hunt runs over four days. You can accept Saturday and Sunday but skip Monday and Tuesday.
Create an event
All members can create individual hunts, protective hunts, and other events:
- Tap a day in the calendar to select it
- Tap the Create event button below the calendar
- Choose the event type
- Set the date and optional time (or pick all-day)
- Choose a hunt leader if it's a hunt event
- For hunt events: optionally choose a tracking handler for the day (the picker filters to members with the
eftersok_providerrole) - For a group hunt, individual hunt, or protective hunt: optionally pick a sub-area from the team map. The chosen sub-area is the starting point when someone launches the live hunt from this event.
- Add a description and save
Requires administrator role
Only administrators (secretary and team lead) can create group hunts and work days, invite participants, and edit or delete events.
Subscribe in your own calendar
You can view the team calendar directly in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook without opening Jaktli.
- Open the calendar and tap the subscription icon in the header
- Tap Generate subscription links
- Choose which calendar you want:
- All team events (everything in the calendar)
- My events only (only events you're attending)
- Tap Add on this device to open your phone's calendar app, or Copy link to paste the URL manually
The calendar is read-only. Changes are always made in Jaktli and then appear in your regular calendar.
TIP
Phone calendars fetch updates a few times a day. It's normal for a new event to show up only the next morning.
Generate new links or turn off
- Generate new links: makes the old links invalid. Use if you've shared a link with the wrong person by mistake.
- Disable subscription: everyone subscribed stops getting updates. You can turn it on again later.
Blocked periods
Some dates may be blocked so you can't book events of a certain type. See Blocked Periods for more.
